AKECHI CHIKAKAGE

BASIC INTRODUCTION

Once owned by Akechi Mitsuhide, the famous general who betrayed Oda Nobunaga and changed the course of history in the sengoku era. Chikakage is the only one of the swords owned by Mitsuhide who has kept such a strong association with his former master, and this has had a huge effect on his attitude and made him somewhat guarded with the other tsukumogami of the citadel.

This guardedness shields an actually lonely individual, who believes he has to 'stand in' for Mitsuhide, and is torn between that urge and the desire to express himself in a more individual manner.

CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS

• MIDARE TOUSHIROU: Midare latched onto Chikakage's after picking up on his loneliness and decided he needed a bit of help in order to 'shine at his brightest.' Chikakage is quietly grateful for this.


• HESHIKIRI HASEBE: a pretty antagonistic relationship; despite their shared loathing of Nobunaga, their histories make it near impossible for them to get along most of the time. Hasebe certainly brings out Chikakage's petty side.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Brings a gun to battle as well as his own sword-self, referencing the talented Akechi gun corps.


• Initially writes poetry, but while he likes reading it, writing it isn't really for him. He only does so because Mitsuhide did. Chikakage actually comes to love throwing himself into visual arts and over time works on and develops a talent for drawing and painting.


• 'Branded' with Mitsuhide's name in gold in his steel, which carries over as a mark on his humanlike body.


• If an actual Chikakage gets made for Touken Ranbu, you can consider this a complete AU. I have no plans to abandon him.
